Don’t Tell The Boss

I’m in bed with flu writing this blog and ‘Don’t Tell the Boss’ was the perfect book to cheer me up! If you’ve read my blog before you’ll see that this book is the sequel to ‘Don’t Tell the Groom’ by Anna Bell. It’s another quirky rom-com that will have you smiling like a loon in all the funny bits.

The blurb reads: When newlywed Penny turns her hand to some casual wedding planning she only wants to help other women afford the big day of their dreams. But taming bridezillas turns out to be a full-time occupation and what began as a hobby becomes a personal and professional nightmare.

I give Don’t Tell the Boss 3/5 for how put-down-able it was. Once again, Anna Bell has charmed the reader with an amusing and endearing story. Penny seems to get herself in the weirdest situations and it makes for a very fun read!

I give this book 4/5 for characters. Penny is still an awesome character to read, with tonnes of personality that makes you wish she could be your friend. Mark is as charming as ever, and the other new characters really pull you into the story.

I give Anna Bell 3/5 for originality. There are some incredibly odd scenes in this book that have not been done before (chasing after a bridesmaid dress whilst on a team building work trip is pretty original…) but the overall concept of a wedding planner is a common rom-com story and so I can only give this 3/5 for how original it is!

Overall I give Don’t Tell the Boss by Anna Bell 3/5. It’s just as fun, if not more, than the first book and makes you want to get married along with Penny and her friends!

Thank you for reading my blog! The next book I will be reviewing is ‘Always The Bridesmaid’ by Lindsey Kelk. Check out my YouTube channel for the vlogs of these reviews at:
